William is now a little past two years old and getting too big for his crib. So we decided that we would get a bunk bed for his room. This way, if we have company, they can sleep in Eliza’s room while Eliza sleeps in the top bunk in William’s room.
We purchased this locally at Bare Furniture in Accord, NY. I like them because they are a small family operation. In this economy, I’d rather give my business to somebody locally that I know.

In any case, the bed has been very well received. William likes having the new bed and Eliza is very excited to have company so she can have a sleep over in Little Guy’s room. I am not sure how much sleeping will actually occur on that night, but we shall see.

We got our son a similar bunk bed when he outgrew his crib. He love sleeping on the lower “cave” and says he’s going to sleep up top when his baby sister gets older. I love buying unfinished furniture from those kind of places.
That’s pretty exciting. I build our son a convertable bed that went from a normal height bed to an elevated loft bed when he got a bit older.Unfortunately he had a close call with the ceiling fan in his room and we converted the bed back to normal height. He is hoping to one day have a bunk bed, but he will need to be quite a bit older, or have a bedroom without a ceiling fan.
They are both pretty excited about the bed. Unfortunately, William has already figured out a way to climb up into the top bunk without the ladder (we stashed the ladder in the closet to keep him off the top bunk). I am going to have to either make some type of anti climbing board for the end of the bed, take the bed apart and get rid of the top bunk for a few years, or put the ladder up and let him climb up to the top the safer way. I donno, option 2 might be the best solution for now.
I would definily agree with you on taking my business to local companies rather than the nationals. It just seems right in these times.
