The Homeowner’s blog is two years old today! It is hard to believe that I’ve been typing these posts out for two years. Here is a brief rundown:
- Number of posts: 326
- Number of comments: 863
- Number of visitors: 126,117
- Average page views per day ~500
- Subscribers ~95
Of all those things, the statistic that I am most proud of is the comments. It seems my readers have a lot of thoughtful input, I have learned quite a few things from the comments that they have left.
Here is a blast from the past:
That is a screen shot of the original homeowner’s blog before I switched to word press. You know, I kind of miss the old look, it was simple and it got the point across. Anyway, that blogging software was riddled with bugs and I like word press.
Unfortunately, I have not been doing much work on the house lately. It is a combination of time and money, both of which are in short supply. Therefore, I may stop posting for awhile as the topics have kind of drifted off into left field somewhere. If resources permit, I do have some small projects that can be done, but for now, we are on hiatus.

I understand the lack of time (and money) but I hate to hear of the impending hiatus.
It often helps me to hear that others have issues with motivation, time, and money when things get hard with my own ‘homework’.
I hope to hear from you again when inspiration strikes!
You mentioned some additional contributors a while back–did anything come of that?
Good luck!
If it helps I will start breaking stuff around your house so you need to fix it.
Congrats on the blog and your dedication to your readers.
I’m going to miss your informative posts!! You have certainly been an inspiration for my blog.
NOOOOOOOOO!
What am I going to do with my morning coffee, you are kind a ritual for me. I actually look forward to seeing what you have possibly written each morning.
Well I understand the need to lay low and rest, heck I am typing this from my comfy camping chair, early on a foggy morning outside my camper. It has been a great week of rest and relaxation in the Northeastern part of Indiana (Amish Country).
Take care,
Fred
Thanks Guys, I have just become very busy lately and need to chill out a little on the house work, spend some quality time with the family, etc. At some point in the next month or two I’ll be picking things up again. I am working on a DIY solar collector that can hopefully save people some money this winter.
That sounds like a cool project…I can’t wait to read about it!
