Most people that I know have had a bad contractor experience. These experiences come in all sorts of flavors, from bad workmanship to unfinished work to “unforeseen” cost over runs, or in the worst case, the contractor skips town with your money and does no work. I have been involved with several commercial construction [...] Since we finished all of the major repair work year and a half ago, our house has settled a little bit. I knew that this would happen, so it did not bother me too much. Frankly, I think we got off pretty lucky. When a remodeling project is in full swing, it is likely that the last question on anybody We are meeting with siding contractors. Uhg. I am not sure why I don’t like the idea, I want the house to look good, and right now, with the old ugly yellow siding that is stained with the bottom third pulled off when we fixed our structural problem, it does not. We had hollow core lauan interior doors which had seen better days. Some of them were peeling apart at the bottom. I opted to replace the all of the doors and frames with pre-hung doors purchased at Lowes. Removing the old doors [...] One of the more expensive discoveries was the condition of our roof. When standing on it, it looked like it was in good condition. The shingles were laying flat and not curling up around the edges and there were only a few broken ones that I could see.
