We have been a little busy around here lately. Not so much on the home improvement front, but other things. I thought I’d play a little catchup. Strawberries Last year we moved the strawberry plants. They had been in the same location for about 4 years or so and the concenus is that they only [...] For all the things that went wrong this year, and for the things that did not happen, the one thing that stands out as a great success is the vegetable garden. Even though it went in late, it immediately began producing good things like lettuce and strawberries. Basically, the vegetable garden work is done. We have had a very very cool spring around here, so things are not growing as fast as they normally do. This is the new look: Basically the fence is 20 x 20 feet, so the enclosed area is 400 [...] This has been a bigger project than expected. We have an area in our yard that is exposed to sun almost all day long. It is a great location for a garden, however, it is a little wet. Last year, the vegetable garden did not do too well because it went in late and it [...] So it begins again… I got the rototiller out and began going over the garden. The nice thing is, I now own the Rototiller, as Jay was nice enough to sell it to me for a bargain. This year, I am going to put in raised beds with gravel walk ways. I am also going [...] |
